This has been quite an interesting year for many New Yorkers, filled with many challenges, lessons and triumphs. But most memorable of all will be the experience and devastation of hurricane Sandy. It has been many months since the hurricane, yet many of the communities along the coastline have not restored their lives and homes to normalcy Fact, many homeowners continue to experience major financial challenges, and their priorities does not include gifts for their children.
So here is where You and I come in. With your participation, children in communities most affected (Coney Island, Red Hook, Far Rockaway and Canarsie ) by the Storm will have an opportunity to experience a normal Christmas and enjoy toys donated by you.
A member of my church who owns Tropical Reflections Ballroom came up with the idea to do a “Toy Collection – Party With A Purpose” this coming Sunday 23rd and you have an opportunity to share the Spirit of Christmas with a child.
You are invited to bring an unwrapped toy for a boy or girl valued at no less than $20.00 with you to the party. In the event that your schedule does not permit you to get to a toy store, the organization will accept your $20.00 cash donation on the night of the “Party With A Purpose” and purchase your toy the following day.
The following Disc-Jockies have donated their talents; Back to Basics, Country, Crazy Bennie, Mr. Goggles, Earth Trema, Nitro, Redline, Stacks, NY Kustomz, System Shakedown and Young Maddy. Sound system provided by DX.
We also ask your support in sharing this event with family and friends via all your social network streams.
