BROOKLYN MUSEUM IS OPEN EVERY THURSDAY EVENING UNTIL 10PM – APRIL SCHEDULE

Every Thursday you can linger later and enjoy exciting evening programs. Wind down the week with art, discussion, music, performances and film. See below for April highlights and check out our website for additional information and updates.

All programs are free with Museum admission unless otherwise noted.

APRIL 4TH – 7PM – In Conversation: Hear Teresa Carbone, co-curator of John Singer Sargent Watercolors; discuss Sargent’s work with Richard Ormond, the artist’s grand nephew. The exhibition joins Brooklyn’s superb collection with that of the Museum of Fine Arts, Boston.

 

APRIL 11TH – 6PM – Visita Guida: John Singer Sargent Acuarelas.

7PM. Curator Tour: Barbara Veith leads a tour of the exhibition “Aesthetic Ambitions”.

 

 

APRIL 18TH – 6:30PM – Sensory Tour: “Poetry”. Designed for individuals who are blind or have low vision; open to all. Verbal descriptions, tasting, and tactile experience included. RSVP requested to access @brooklynmuseum.org or 718.501.6487.

7PM – Audiophile: The first installment of a series celebrating Brooklyn’s thriving music scene. Featuring six-piece soul-punk band Ava Luna, and presented in partnership with Viva Radio.

 

 

APRIL 25TH – Gallery Talk: In connection with the Museum’s exhibition of prints by Kathe Kollwitz, gallery director Hildegard Bachert discusses how Kollwitz’s art treated the theme of death.

 

 

Special support for Thursday evening films, provided by the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences.
