The influence of Africa and its culture is a global phenomenon, nowhere more evident than in music. This annual concert, a highlight of the Apollo’s season, celebrates the best of today’s African music scene.

This year’s concert takes us on a musical excursion from desert blues of Niger (Bombino), to the tantalizing sounds of Zimbabwe’s Tonga music (Mokoomba), to the experimental fusion of an up and comer who embodies the cool swag of Ghana’s hipster set (Jojo Abot), showcasing both the origins of African music and its extensions into today’s global pop culture.
