What started out in 2011 as the inaugural Reggae, Rhythm & Blues Festival with R&B hit machine Kenny ‘Babyface’ Edmonds at Roy Wilkins in Queens, NY has mushroomed into Groovin In The Park, New York City’s premier R&B, reggae summer concert.
In just nine years, the annual festival has provided first class entertainment for thousands of families and friends in the New York metro region, bringing to the main stage the best talent that reggae and R&B music has to offer.

Bolton was joined by R&B sensation Billy Ocean, Morgan Heritage, Coco Tea, Luciano, Stitchie and Capleton. Six time Grammy winner Stephen Marley joined Capleton during his set, the two performing ‘Rockstone’ and ‘It Was Written’.
2016 – Beres cemented his mark as the king of lover’s rock reggae. Beres could do no wrong as patrons were left “grooving” to classics such as One Dance, She Loves Me Now and countless others. The large crowd erupted when Beres asked Voice season 5 winner Tessanne Chin to join him on stage for her version of his infectious hit, Step Aside Now. Other performers included Brian McKnight, Toots, Regina Bell and Peabo Bryson. Organizers injected a bit of dancehall with the inclusion of Tiger and Johnny P whose short stint was welcomed by all
2017 – Groovin’ celebrated the magic of the reggae/Rock Steady eras with the Captain Freddie McGregor, Ken Boothe, Leroy Sibbles, U Roy backed by Lloyd Parks and We The People Band supported by a jaw-dropping 17-man orchestral, plus the Lenox Hill Rd Baptist choir. The 17-man orchestral ensemble was directed by Michael ‘Ibo’ Cooper, former member of Third World band. Tarrus Riley, R&B star R Kelly and dancehall heart throb Busy Signal delivered his first performance on US soil at the Reggae, R&B sizzler in NY.
2018 – Last year, reggae and R&B festival was all about the artistes’ catalogue. The concert began with the vocal stylings of Marcia Aitken, Pam Hall and UK based JC Lodge. Then, it was time for the young and talented reggae singer Romain Virgo to charm fans with Soul Provider, Lovesick and Michael Bolton’s When A Man Loves A Woman that had the crowd rocking and Groovin. Busy Signal completed his “unfinished business” while Babyface was all about the ladies and he ensured that he pleased them visually by removing his shirt to reveal his physique just before running through the crowd. Headliner Jr Gong Marley was the consummate professional delivering all the hits and some including a few songs from his father’s catalogue including Crazy Baldhead and Could You Be Loved in front his own son.
